Amenities & Local Excursions 
Hawks Ledge consists of 58.8 acres including two common areas. The first common area is across the front of the property and along Meadowfork Creek. Meadowfork creek is a picturesque state stocked trout stream. A neighbor close by boasts that his sons first trout was caught in this stream in front of the property.....with his bear hands. The property around the creek is kept in common area so that all residents of Hawks Ledge can enjoy fishing, picknicking of just relaxing on it's banks.
The other common area set aside is at a higher elevation on the property and will have a picnic area and open meadow along a beautifully landscaped rambling creek.
Activities in the area:

Nearby the property are the many hiking trails of the Pisgah National Forest including the Max Patch and Buckeye fields area. The biggest feature is that the Appalachian Trail cuts straight across Max Patch. Max Patch is considered to be the Crown Jewel of the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail.

There are also numerous horseback riding outfits in the area providing guide service to the many horse trails in the area.

Nearby Hot Springs has the French Broad river running through it and provides several outfitters for kayaking, tubing or river rafting.
There are several Ski mountains within a short drive from the property including:
Wolf Ridge Who just added a ski tunnel to their terrain.
Cataloochee Which sports two moving carpet surface lifts.
Ski Beech The highest ski area in eastern North Carolina.
Sapphire Valley Offers affordable skiing for the whole family.
Sugar Mountain With night skiing available and the largest skiable acreage in North Carolina.
